About URSI

Radio science encompasses the knowledge and study of all aspects of electromagnetic fields and waves. The International Union of Radio Science (Union Radio-Scientifique Internationale), a non-governmental and non-profit organisation under the International Council for Science, is responsible for stimulating and co-ordinating, on an international basis, studies, research, applications, scientific exchange, and communication in the fields of radio science.

Included within the objectives are the following:

To encourage and promote international activity in radio science and its applications, for the benefit of humanity;
To encourage the adoption of common methods of measurement, and the intercomparison and standardisation of the measuring instruments used in scientific work;
to stimulate and co-ordinate studies of:
the scientific aspects of telecommunications using electromagnetic waves, guided and unguided;
the generation, emission, radiation, propagation, reception, and detection of fields and waves, and the processing of the signals embedded in them.
to represent radio science to the general public, and to public and private organisations.

Asia Pacific Radio Science Conference (AP-RASC) is a triennial flagship event of the International Union of Radio Science (URSI). It is an international conference in the field of radio science, where eminent researchers and experts from all over the world gather to share their knowledge and experience, and also to encourage scientific exchange and fellowship amongst industry colleagues and professionals globally. It is our pleasure to invite participation to AP-RASC 2019 not just from Asia but also from Europe, South and North America, Oceania and Africa. The scientific program will provide an opportunity for participants to exchange new ideas and information on many important issues related to recent advances in radio science. The scope of radio science broadly covered in the AP-RASC 2019 fall under the ten commission of URSI as follows.

Commission A : Electromagnetic Metrology, Electromagnetic Measurements and Standards
Commission B : Fields and Waves
Commission C : Radio-communication Systems and Signal Processing
Commission D : Electronics and Photonics
Commission E : Electromagnetic Noise and Interference
Commission F : Wave Propagation and Remote Sensing
Commission G : Ionospheric Radio and Propagation
Commission H : Waves in Plasmas
Commission J : Radio Astronomy
Commission K : Electromagnetics in Biology and Medicine

The scientific program will comprise a keynote lecture and four general talks given by outstanding experts in the academia and the industry. In addition, there will be individual commission specific invited talks, oral and poster sessions. Yet another highlight of the conference will be the technical exhibitions where one is exposed to the latest innovations in radio science and related industries.

A special program will be arranged for the registered accompanying persons while the delegates confer. This interesting program will comprise aspects that expose the visitor to social and cultural aspects of New Delhi. It may include a) visits to the Mughal garden, museums, art galleries and ethnic handicraft shopping areas; and b) demonstrations of Yoga, Indian cookery and Saree tying etc.

Any full-time university student from any country, who is the principal author and the presenter of a paper (oral or poster) at a regular session of the AP-RASC 2019, can apply for the SPC. The five finalists will receive free registration and free accommodation covering the full conference duration. In addition, all the five will receive a certificate each and the first three will also receive cash awards

Young Scientist Awards will be presented to recognize an international group of individuals below the age of 35, who have made innovative contributions and discoveries in multidiscipline research related to electromagnetic fields and waves. The award will comprise a certificate, free registration and free accommodation covering the conference duration.
